Yes. All runners will be issued with a timing chip for all events. You will be required to lace this onto your shoe and return the chip after you finish. Runners who do not hand in their chip may be asked to replace it at a cost of $20.
There is an indoor area with fire place available for that cold/frosty wait. An undercover BBQ area is situated near the finish line.
There will be a trained paramedic patrolling each event who will be in constant contact with the Race Marshall. A sweeper vehicle will be available for any competitor not up to the challenge on the long run.
PAIN!.... Only kidding. As the name suggests there is a mountain involved. The challenge is to run it both ways.
The 2km event is suitable for children young and old. All children six years and under should be accompanied by an adult as there are water hazards within the golf course. All distances incorporate hills, running on sealed roads, dirt tracks and grass.
The Resort has cabins available for the weekend at great discount rates - no minimum stay requirements. Nice and close to the action click here for contact details. There are 2 caravan parks, a boutique motel and plenty of "farm stay" type accommodation in the Valley. Berry and Nowra offer a myriad of options from basic to luxury.
The start line will be outside the clubhouse at Kangaroo Valley Country Club. Runners will be asked to assemble at the start line around 10 minutes before their race. There will be no seeding groups on the start line so we ask that all runners use common sense to self seed themselves. This means faster runners start at the front, moderate runners in the middle and slower runners/walkers at the back.
The finish is quite exciting for both participants and spectators. All events will share the same finish line. Smile and enjoy your moment as you cross the finish line! You must also ensure that you cross the blue finish mats with your timing chip attached to your shoes. Do not slow down until after you cross the mats.
After the finish volunteers will direct you to the post event recovery area where water, sports drink and fruit will be available. Your timing chip will also be collected in this area and placed in the buckets provided. Do not leave with your timing chip.
